Corset vs kidney belt by undyingnephalim-d8xhyou

Saria displays the characteristic differences of a Kidney Belt and Corset.

The Kidney Belt, not to be confused with the corset, is a piece of light armor commonly utilized by nearly all intelligent races of Hyrule.

It is a common misconception that most female characters in Hyrule: Total War wear corsets into battle. However, few characters ever actually wear a corset, but instead a piece of medieval gear called a Kidney Belt.

Kidney Belts are a form of light armor designed to protect the vulnerable parts of a person's waist, specifically their kidneys, while not restricting mobility and range of motion. They were a common piece of equipment during the Roman and early medieval eras where archers preferred belt mounted quivers to back mounted quivers.
