Loftwing Cavalier

The ancient Loftwings were introduced as mounts for Hylians during the reign of Hylia. While nowhere near as durable as a horse and incapable of flight because of the odd structure of their tails, Loftwings were much faster then cavalry at the time and were used to ferry Mages across the battlefield. When Hylia withdrew from her rule the Loftwings fell out of popularity because of their lack of versatility and violent predatory nature. They were eventually replaced with horses again and have since become extinct. There are little records left on Loftwings because of their association with Hylia, though many fairy tales and legends often embellish and exaggerate their ability to fly.
